Jan 8, 2009Online quoting: BE CAREFUL!!! Online quoting is becoming increasingly popular. We have included this option on our own website with our 'quotecast' option. While this can be a helpful tool it is extremely important to be careful with these quotes. Remember that they are just QUOTES and they are not guaranteed by any company. One small error when entering your information, i.e., incorrect postal code, incorrect date of an accident, missing a conviction, could lead to a HUGE error in the quote. If you switch companies based on one of these quotes, you may find they will come back to you and say, 'sorry, but your premium will be......' Remember, a quote is just that - A QUOTE! We have a process that we have used for many years to provide a much higher level of assurance that the price you are given is the correct one. This involves getting drivers abstract and previous insurance history information - but this requires your permission and we prefer to have you sign a form to comply with privacy legislation. This may seem like a cumbersome process, but it is nothing compared to the hassle caused by changing companies based on an incorrect quote - you could end up paying MORE than you are currently paying and may not even be able to go back to your old company. Please don't let this scare you away from using online quoting tools - they are still very useful at helping you make decisions about coverage. Just keep in mind that automobile Insurance rating is becoming very complicated and it is best that we review any quotes given before you make a final decision.
